The institute established in 1969 as Vocational Training Institute to create skilled human resources through Technical and Vocational education having acquired land of 4.33 acres. Jamalpur is about 140 km north of Dhaka the national capital. The Jamalpur TSC is situated beside the bank of the river Brahmaputra.
In this institute two years Trade course continued up to 1994, with the modernization and reorganization of vocational education system SSC (Vocational) course started in 1995 and HSC (Vocational) course started in 1997. To ensure the social acceptance and dignity of vocational graduates the institute is renamed as Jamalpur Technical School and College (TSC) in 2003 by a gazette notification from Ministry of Education, Bangladesh. There are 64 Government Technical School and College all over the Bangladesh. The Jamalpur TSC is one of the Technical and Vocational Institute which are introducing the SSC (Vocational) and HSC (Vocational) courses under accreditation of Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). The institute is controlled by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Ministry of education, Bangladesh. Trade offering in this institute is Electronics, Computer, Farm Machinery and Machinist.

The institute is playing a vital role to develop human resources in the local area. Our goal to provide quality education and training in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system with well equipped laboratories, multimedia class room facilities and highly qualified and experienced teacher.
